It's a break up when it's broken

Well, as those of you who read this will know, I have been in love....and now I have just had my heart broken. So I am probably going to crawl back into my shell for a few weeks. I am also have laser eye surgery in two days (such bad timing), so I might not be on here for a while. Getting dumped is the worst - I know that I will get over it etc, been here so many times before, but it doesn't mean it's any less completely devastating.

Back from Siem Reap...

Angkor Wat at sunrise
Hi all, back from Cambodia, already hatching plans to go back. I fell in love with the place and the people.

I will do a more in depth review this week when I have time (before my laser eye surgery of course!)

Highlights include my two wonderful hotels - Golden Temple Villa and Memoire d'Angkor, Quad Adventures Camodia, Khmer Ways Moto tours (I rode a motorbike for the first time ever!) and my wonderful photography tour...

Here are some photos!

Apologies for the absence, it has been one of those weeks:
  • Lost 2kilos by not drinking for two weeks
  • Capped off this by getting so drunk I left my bag at the club, scaled my back fence, and ended up sleeping on my front porch covered in newspapers
  • Got a new job
  • Booked my Cambodia trip (leaving today)
  • Did the Colour Run
  • Got a new bass guitar
  • Sold about a hundred items on Ebay

Day 14 - Your Earliest Memory (and ebay sale!)

Helping Dad when the car got bogged

Pineapple bikini

Me, my mum and my grandma. I look like a boy. I also have my favourite hanky.
These photos are my earliest memories - I particularly remember the landcruiser getting bogged in the sand. We had to lay down leaves and things to drive over, and mum had to carry the heavy toolkit up to the top of the hill. I remember her hand was bleeding from trying to help dad.

In other news, I had my first Uke night - it was fun. I was definitely the youngest there by a fair margin.

And yes - Ebay sale is ongoing. For anyone who is interested: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/poptartlr/m.html?item=290912651709&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
My ebay name is Poptartlr - I have a whole bunch of stuff in Size 12/ shoe size 8.

Days 11, 12 and 13! (

Whoops! Managed to fall a little behind - and I was doing so well:)

Anyway, here is a picture of my bag that I will be taking to Cambodia - trying to travel with carryon only. I know it is only 5 days, but for me this will be a major miracle! I'm feeling a bit more organised, flights, insurance and hotel booked for first few nights. I also have a tour booked - a private photography tour of the temples, last all day from 4:30am to 5:30pm!

Anyway - onto the days....

Day 11: Ipod on shuffle and write the first 10 songs.

Hmmm, this will be embarrassing!

1. My mathematical Mind - Spoon
2. TKO - Le Tigre
3.  Never Let Me Go - Florence and the Machine
4. Suicide is Painless - The Drones (Cover)
5. Surfin Safari - The Beach Boys
6. I Want You So Hard - Eagles of Death Metal
7. And No More Shall We Part - Nick Cave
8. So Watcha Want - Beastie Boys
9. Play That Funky Music - James Brown
10. Love Like Semtex - The Infadels

Day 12: Bullet Your Whole Day

Hard to since I forgot....hmmm, what did I do yesterday??

- Got up at 10am since I wasn't feeling well.
- Since I was late I just had a protein bar for breakfast
- Checked internet sites
- Called mum and asked if she wanted to catch up
- Got dressed and ready while she drove down
- Went into town and shopped for ugly trekking sandals and long pants
- Got into arguments with mum as per usual
- Lunch (dumplings)
- Bought ugly sandals and long pants, bug repellent and bag locks, and a camera bag
- Got home
- Went to gym for brief 30 minute run, 10 minute x trainer
- Booked photography tour
- More interneting
- Tried to study for my job interview (failed)
- Went to bed early because I wasn't feeling brilliant

Exciting. Not.

Day 13:Somewhere you would like to move or visit

Easy! I would love to move to any number of places - Mexico, San Francisco, Liverpool, NYC, Singapore...the list is pretty endless.

Day 10 - Your First Love and Your First Kiss

Nearly missed the deadline today - it's been frantic. I had to get the written piece for my interview in today, and another application. Plus I booked my impromptu trip to Cambodai - leaving on the 19th, back on the 26th May. I can't believe how cheap the Vietnam Air flights were. Ridiculous. So far I have booked into the Golden Temple Villa in Siem Reap for three nights - it is so weird just paying $19 a night for a hotel! I am undecided whether to bother going to Phnomh Penh for the remaining two nights or not. Can't decide! So much to see in Siem reap - I want to do the quad bike tour, and I found a photography tour of Angkor Wat which would suit me as I need to learn about my camera...decisions!

Anyway, onto the topic.

My first kiss was actually in a high school play - we did a production of Cosi in year 11. I played the crazy character of Cherry, and I had to grab and kiss the director Lewis. Who as I later found out (in real life) is gay:) Of course during the performance a lovely school kid screamed out 'stick the tongue in' which nearly made me choke.

And my first love? I'm not counting Christian slater:) Or even my first boyfriend cause that was infatuation, as was the second.
The first one that was true love broke my heart into a million pieces three days into an 8 week trip to the UK. Never saw it coming.

Day 9 - How you hope your future will be like

An interesting one for today - but first up, a picture representative of what I have been up to...

Clothes for Ebay

Some Tuesday night viewing

New Lady V London dress
I am trying to finish my written piece for my job interview monday - blurgh. Not feeling inspired in the slightest because I am not sure I actually want the job - it's just a placeholder. Plus my lack of confidence at the moment is contributing to my nerves.

But I am planning an impromptu trip to Siem Reap in a week - I decided since I got a big tax refund, that I would save most of it for my unemployment - but that the ebay sales I have already done, will fund a ticket to Cambodia. I figure it should be an inexpensive 5 day trip. I have always wanted to go on one of those! Terrified though - never traveled in SE Asia by myself. Hope it goes ok!

Anyway onto the question...I just want to be happy - in my job, my relationships, and myself. Not much to ask really?
