Trackside

In case you are wondering what I am doing....trying to work while being deafened by car and bogan noise. It's like being directly next to a swarm of giant insane killer bees. This is the view from our office window:

The bogans have already invaded our building to use our toilets - we are trying to secure the doors so they are only swipe access. This definitely bites the bog one. Particularly as my house is next to the track too - gotta love it!

What have I been doing?

It's been completely crazy here...Fringe, Clipsal road closures, trip to Canberra, dates....yes, you heard me correctly.

Saw three shows last week at Tiffins on the Park - best was my friend doing songs from Doris Day. Wine was consumed.

Kitty fun

Living under a black cloud at the moment - being performance managed is really exhausting and distressing. I feel like every aspect of my work life is being scrutinised - after a meeting it will be 'you missed an opportunity to ask how that person is going' or 'you should go over to them and try joking with your employees'. Blurgh. My management istyle is very different and I hate being held to a certain style. My employees like me, and I have had good feedback from them, but it's clearly not the way my boss wants me to do things:(

I went to see my friend in an amazing jazz show last night, but I had to leave halfway through. I was just too exhausted. It doesn't help that my diet has gone out the window and I ate a whole bag of minties through stress. Sugar highs and lows are not helping. I have a show tonight and one tomorrow night too, and a date saturday night...

Which leads me to - what the hell does one wear on a date? Gah! SO many clothes and nothing to wear.

Zara shirt and Dotti skirt. Don't worry, I did brush my hair after this.

Up and Over

I finally returned to Crossfit after two weeks away - of course having done back to back Xtend Barre and Burlesque classes last night, I was more than a little tired. Plus the fact that it is now dark at 6am....WTF? Already?

Still feeling glum about work, but nothing I can do beyond doing my best, and trying to look around just in case. Depressing though!

Crossfit gym is also base camp for True Grit Training. Here is the small wall we have to make it over. Is it valid to just push it over?

Just Like Chocolat...

Tired. Fringe is killing me and it's only been two nights! I was supposed to go to a show last night but I just couldn't get it together to go...

It's Parade Time

I needed a big old drink after a terrible performance review yesterday - let's just say that I don't think my new boss's style and mine mesh well. I'm never good with people who like to go through you work and insist on using red pen to circle everything.

But at least I did the Parade for the Fringe - no extreme storms. Lots of waiting around in costume for two hours! I was so nervous, needed to pee (impossible in my costume), and I forgot dinner so I was starving.

But: I can tick appearing in a public event in underwear off my list! Plus cheap drinks all night due to costume. And I had a number of people complimenting my dress sense bravery. WTF people, it's clearly a costume! Which proves my point that everyone has a secret longing to wear their underwear in public.

Silent disco was amazing:)

Garden of Delight

I discovered last night, much to my chagrin, that I can actually hear the Fringe going on in the Garden of Unearthly Delights from my house. Which is not going to make for much in the way of sleep for the next oh.....5 weeks!!! I could hear people having fun, laughing, drinking. All the while I was in bed desperately trying to get some sleep before my probation review today. Plus walking in the parade tonight!

Workmate made valentine cupcakes - I restrained myself though and didn't have any

Hanging out in my dressing gown (Leona Edmiston) and my fluffy Mules (AP)

Time for a teeny glass of wine in my own Garden

Best sale buy ever - Aurelio Costarella dress $150 down from something ridiculous

This would be the perfect date dress (if I ever had one). It gives me a waist (which I don't have)

Swinging Sixties

Happy Valentines Day everyone! For all you singles out there like me, I hope you get some mega hot sex with someone you are lusting after. Or some wine and chocolate! I will probably have none of the above;) My diet is going reasonably well thus far this week - I think knowing it's less than a month til I get a bikini on in Malaysia has influenced me. Although someone has brought in cupcakes to the office today!
