Get Your Mail On Time

Heading towards the middle of a super busy week - luckily I have Friday off, so that I can go to Cold War Kids on Thursday night, and get a whole bunch of stuff done Friday morning before the Spin Off Festival. I am so tired just thinking about it.

Plus I start my classes tomorrow....Professional Legal Ethics looks incredibly boring but I will reserve my judgement. Oh - the exciting news for me is of course the direct Air Asia flights from Adelaide to KL- mum and I have booked for next May (ages away, but why not). We are looking at destinations to fly on to - either Kuchi or HK.
Oh, and Leonard Cohen is coming back!!

Saw burlesque Friday night - I got this note from the boylesque mail man (loved the act with the cooked chicken down the pants!)

Tried out a new gym - didn't like the set up though. Free weights on a different floor to the rest of the equipment.

Superhero/Supervillain night again. TOOOOOOO much coconut vodka.

It's like a copy of a copy of a copy

Insomnia is such a fickle bitch. I was doing fine until this week then BOOM. No sleep since Sunday. Which means since it is Thursday that I haven't slept more than 4 hours since Sunday. I am not making much sense anymore. if I don't get any sleep tonight I am going to go cray cray for reals.

Is there only air in this box?

Reaching Up, Reaching Out

So much happening - it makes me feel very satisfied to look at the tickets on my fridge and see all the amazing events coming up through August, after a very boring past month. Over the next few weeks I have The Daily Grind burlesque, superhero night, Cold War Kids, Spin Off Festival, Jive's 10th birthday (with The Beards and Jackson Firebird), British India, the Japandroids, Ash.....I am tired just thinking about it.

not to mention Law...oh oh.

I Got The Blues

Ok, so I managed to delete my entire post. Grrrrr. Anyway, all I said was - Dry July = torture. Day 19.

Nothing much else happening except I have been accepted into the midyear Law degree entry. No idea why I am going back to finish my law degree - I basically have 4-5 years left part time! I already have three degrees....do I really need a 4th?

My friend pointed out that I am a helpless Joiner - if there is something that comes along (Spanish! Burlesque! Ukulele!) I join. I have way too many hobbies, and no free time. I just get so excited about learning new things.
Oh well, will see how this goes.

You Am I and other things

It was a jam packed weekend considering I am still doing Dry July - You Am I on Friday night at the last minute. Which turned out to be a really good decision - they were amazing. Although I made the mistake of wearing my heeled boots...cue shooting crampy pains in my toes which took the edge off how great the show was.

Followed up seeing The Heat with my mum on Saturday - very funny, good light entertainment. And Australia's Next Top Model night at my house with my friend, who baked an amazing gluten and sugar free banana bread (yum!) for me.

Then Sunday - 7am pt session from hell. I can barely move today. Followed by an all day Lightroom workshop. I was so exhausted when I got home that I went to bed at 7pm. I need another weekend!

Tunnels and Roundabouts

At the moment I am just hanging out for the weekend, and burning peoples' retinas with my outfit. I have had numerous side eyes from the academics. It's just colour folks! Get over it!

All of my friends are down at the moment - it must be winter and the inability to get up in the mornings. I too am feeling a bit grrrr. Maybe it's just the lack of alcohol. And the fact we did so badly at Quiz night last night - seriously, the cheating table were warned about iphone use...so they brought out their ipad instead. I was angry for about one second before I saw the hysterically funny side of it all.

Waking Up is Hard To Do

I think I am actually quite surprised that I have managed to stick to this no alcohol, sugar and gluten free diet for a week and half. I have dropped about 3 kilos since my first weigh in, so I will consider it a success thus far. Of course I have been managing to get to the gym 5 days a week too, which probably helps. I really want a glass of wine though!

Considering going to see You Am I on Friday night - I did love their past albums. I cannot find anyone to go with me though. Since a few good friends are currently OS my social life is nonexistent:)

Other things exciting me: The Lightroom workshop I am taking this Sunday, and new episodes of Australia's Next Top Model (and Britain's Next Top Model). I have also become obsessed with the new show Twisted, and old favourite True Blood, which is back on its game. And my shiny new work Macbook Air - I want one for home now (but boo - so broke!).

Vintage dress worn to death. I hate when my hair is freshly washed, it is so boringly straight!

Click Click Click

My first Dry July weekend was spent enduring a man cold....and taking a photography workshop 'Crash course in digital photography'. I am now feeling more comfortable using my camera, although I still am not sure what I am doing. I have gone ahead and enrolled in another full day workshop for next sunday which covers everything you need to know about editing your photos. Hopefully this will help me improve my gig photos....

I also went out for about one hour hopped up on good old fashioned sudafed, to Onesie night at Shotz. It was weird being one of the few people NOT in a onesie.
